How do PDPs Work? | |
 |
Medicare has contracted with private insurance companies like WellCare to offer Prescription Drug Plans to individuals electing Medicare Part D. | |
 |
|
WellCare has negotiated low prescription costs for its members. You pay only a small
monthly premium to join one of Wellcare’s three plans but most of your medication
costs are taken care of by Medicare.

|
You’ll receive a member card, which you show at the pharmacy of your choice to get your savings. You
will usually also have a small co-pay due at the pharmacy counter. There are
virtually no claim forms or paperwork to fill out to get your savings. It’s that simple.

Remember: Through WellCare, there is no charge for covered generic drugs. This is an important
factor to consider.
